Birth Doula Services
Birth Doula Support Package
A baby is coming - it’s so ordinary (people do this all the time!) and also so extraordinary (“I’m having an effing baby?!?”). No matter how you got to this place, you’re here now, expecting a baby - and you deserve an empowering birth (including if you are planning a c-section!). As a doula, I help you prepare for the possibilities that await you.
Prenatal planning.
After our initial consult to see if we are a good fit, we will meet two times to cover basic childbirth education, discuss common interventions, and create a birth “plan” (I call them birth preferences). We will also talk about your history as it may apply to birth - sometimes this means history of trauma, your relationship with your own parents, previous medical diagnosis and experiences in medical settings - its amazing what can come up during this time in your life! We will also connect periodically through text, emails, and phone calls. During this prenatal time, I will get to know you and your partner so we can be a dream team in the birthing room!
Birth support.
Once you are in active labor (see below for scheduled cesareans), I will meet you at your birthing place (hospital, home, birth center, etc.) to offer hands on comfort measures, support informed in decision making, and provide emotional support. The way I offer support varies depending on what you need! Some examples are: reminding you of your birth wishes, holding space for a peaceful environment, suggesting things for your partner to do, recording your birth timeline, and providing additional information about interventions being offered. I will stay with you for an hour after baby arrives to help you establish feeding and bonding.
Postpartum visit.
I’ll visit you a few days after birth to help you process the experience. You will receive your birth timeline that I recorded, as well as photos (if you wanted them) before our visit, so we can review it together if you’d like. I will leave you additional resources to help support you during your postpartum period.

Belly Birthers - I’m here for you!
Doula support is often thought as of helping you avoid a surgical birth - but what if you’re planning to birth this way? You deserve comfort and support (of COURSE you do!)
No one should feel ostracized because of their experience.
I have three children, all born via cesarean. My first birth was extremely traumatic because of the medical circumstances, but also because I was unsure how to advocate for myself. For my subsequent births, I learned how to plan for various scenarios, interview providers, and follow my intuition to incorporate what was most important to my birthing experience. While I was unable to have my dream birth, each cesarean was less difficult than the previous; my last baby had the most beautiful surgical birth I could create.
While I walk with the grief of leaving my dream birth unfulfilled, I am dedicated to ensuring that no one feels ostracized because of their experience. Together we will plan for the birth you desire and navigate whatever comes up along the way. I’m here for you to dream, plan, and navigate this life changing experience.
